In this new age, when someone has to pay for the mistakes made in the economy, one must find a way to make the funds available go further, because those who had money to invest panicked and over-invested in gold, driving the price up on everything, making the dollar worth less. To top it off, just about every retailer has gotten on the “Raise the price of everything Bandwagon.” But it’s not over yet; and many will have to make adjustments in or to survive. Here are a few ways one can lower their bills.
On a regular summer day like today, one can wear a short sleeve shirt, shorts and sandals keeping the air conditioner set to 82 degrees Fahrenheit while drinking an ice cold glass of lemonade. In the winter, one can wear a warm coat, a hat and some boots; gathering some wood and starting a warm fire in the fireplace; setting the heater to 72 degrees and having a cup of hot chocolate. Changing the light-bulbs in the house to the LED type will also make a big difference in the bill and using a mini-laptop or notebook computer instead of a desktop is another way to bring the cost down
To turn the water bill down, one can turn off the faucet when shaving and turn back on to rinse it off the razor; and keeping a pail in the shower, which fills up with water that runs while it is getting warm, can be poured into a couple of one gallon bottles to water the garden on the way out of the house. Putting all the cardboard, paper, plastic and metal items in the recycle bin and the banana peels, egg shells, and raw greens in a compost pile which later goes in the garden; allows you to use the smaller garbage can the city picks up once a week, thereby saving even more.
When one drives to the store keeping the speed under the limit and staying in the slow lane, one will find that there are rarely any cars in in the way, so one does not have to put on the breaks as often. This saves money on gas oil, breaks and tires. This way one can put the money one saves in the bank for a rainy day. Everyone can help bring down the prices by the way they shop; the higher the price one pays for anything, the more the value of the dollar will drop.
