Well going to my opinion, I don’t think that an 18 year old school student should be criminally charged for having a relationship with a younger school classmate. You can’t just sue any school student just like that. There are many factors that need to be considered before making any law or charging someone. In this case, I think the relationship doesn’t come one-sided. It has to be from both the sides. Yes I agree at this age students are not so mature, also I don’t consider 18 year-olds to be enough mature as a 21 year old person would be. Some students even though they may be young but behave very maturely and at the same time many don’t. Therefore, considering the age group and psychological factors, the charges should be made. What I think is these charges should not be made common but should be individually monitored. Off course I do understand that there may be older students do try to take advantage of younger ones which are more immature than them by false emotional dramas. These type of students should be punished!
We just can’t put up a law and force it on students who have genuinely good relationships among them. After all a good relationship leads to a good emotional and mental being which in turn increases the health and productivity of a person. It keeps the person happy and helps spread cheerfulness all around them. Therefore criminally charging an 18 year-old for having a sound relationship with a younger school student is not correct! In fact, those students should be charged who are bullying or forcing the younger students against their will.
I, therefore, do not agree completely with this notion of criminally charging an 18 year-old school student for having relationships with younger school students. But when it comes to sex, I do think that there should be restrictions for them as having early sex is not good seeing both from the psychological as well as physiological point of view. A good sex education is a must! It helps in understanding the human system properly. It also increases awareness among students to have a better reproductive health. A relationship goes well only if love is understood more than any physical needs. Sex should not form the basis of any relationship! So, let’s be a little more open-minded and think clearly of all the factors before making any decision regarding the criminal charge on school students.
