Reduce water consumption, hydro and gas usage
Reduce the amount of gas your car uses by planning your errands around town
Cook dishes that can be used for two meals, such as dinner then lunch
Try to plan a dish that can be used in several ways and different meals
Create meals that are filling
Check every flyer and stick to one store
Park between the places you need to go and go for a walk
Plan your evening of entertainment for Tuesday dinner and a movie night
Have a potluck party with friends and relatives
Have a movie and games night with friends and family
Put your money in labeled envelope so you will stick to a budget
Don’t use credit to pay for bills or buy groceries, live on what you have
An example would be to go out for dinner on a Tuesday night then go to a movie nearby on cheap night. This will be your night out for the week. On a Saturday or Sunday night, have a few friends over and have each person bring a snack or drink to share. Play games, rent a movie or use the resources of your local library because it’s free. Read a book together, or do crafts and create projects together.
Volunteer some of your time to a local organization to help reduce their costs and give you something to do with your time.
There’s no reason to ever be bored or alone, there’s always something to do.
Only buy groceries on sale and plan meals that are filling and not leaving you hungry all the time.
Cut out or down on your goodies and baked goods. If you get a sweet tooth, have a candy. It’s cheaper and has less calories.

If you know that your income can’t cover repayment, don’t bother charging a purchase onto your credit card. Just do without it.
