With an increase in demand for affordable retirement with the recent recession just having passed, many people are considering their options to ensure they can live comfortably on their retirement savings. With retired people being more independent and not living with relatives, having saved their whole lives to be able to retire comfortably during their retirement years, affordable retirement properties are in demand.
In doing so many factors need to be taken into account. Depending on gender and whether they are single or married depends greatly on the type of property and activities available in a certain area. If you want to be in a more built up area with the Ohio River Valley, strong steel industry and stable housing market this is a real winner with it’s humid summers to take the edge off those snowy winters. With large hospitals and spoiled for choice doctor surgeries, coupled with its good bus and train services, you cannot go wrong.
Though don’t forget Iowa, the America Heartland. Bordered by the Mississippi river with its hot summers and rolling hills, it’s an ideal location for long walks and enjoying the scenery. With regular bus services along with ferries and rail you can get anywhere within the USA without having to pull your car out of the drive. Community health centres, general practitioner surgeries and hospitals ensure you are within easy reach of all healthcare you require.
Atlanta is also reasonably priced and fantastic for all the cultural people out there. With its arts, theatres, concerts and oozing with history it boasts hot summers and mild winters with an excellent transport system.
Last but not least is Orlando, home of Walt Disney World. Property is surprisingly affordable with it’s hot and dry summers and booming tourism industry. With good public transport available and many shops, restaurants and coffee shops what more could you want.
So when looking for that ideal and affordable retirement location, be sure to study the area, the market, the amenities and anything else important to you before making the big step.
